Corporate
Wellness

The most successful businesses understand that a happy and productive workplace is a healthy workplace.

Work can be a protective factor for mental health, but it can also contribute to worsening mental health. Work-related mental health conditions are preventable. Much can also be done to protect and promote mental health at work and support people with mental health conditions to participate fully and equitably in work.

People also understand how important their health is. For older workers to continue working and enjoy their later years, they need to be in good health. The younger generation is more health-conscious and expects their employers to actively promote healthy work environments rather than simply providing a paycheque.

Our emotional, psychological, and social well-being are all parts of mental health. It contributes to our thinking, feeling, and behaviour. Our mental health also determines how we deal with stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices.

Workplace well-being is related to all aspects of working life, including how workers feel about their work, their working environment, the climate at work, and how their work is organised, as well as the quality and safety of the physical environment.

Productivity loss, absenteeism, job abandonment, and higher turnover are often directly linked to poor mental health. Educating your employees on how to practise good stress management is an effective way to prioritise well-being in the workplace.

Mental health in the workplace is top of mind for everyone these days. While our understanding of mental health at work is changing, research in the field is continuing to show how pivotal workplace well-being is to an individual's overall mental and emotional health.

Supporting mental health in the workplace is no longer a nice to have but a necessity. Creating wellness solutions to help their employees thrive is the first step.

Positive mental health at work helps teams remain agile when changing roles and responsibilities. Not to mention facing difficult challenges. It helps employees flourish in their roles, manage stress, and boosts resilience. Ultimately, it allows each individual to reach their highest potential.

One way to work in the direction of better employee mental health would be to have monthly webinars with a professional about various topics that could benefit your teammates and to give them the space to understand themselves better and to learn to cope better with the challenges that one faces in the corporate world.

I offer short 60-120 minute customised webinars and workshops about various mental health topics based on the unique needs of your organisation. This seemingly small step can be the stride you need in the right direction to start a dialogue with your employees about their mental health.

In the years I have been working as a therapist I have worked solo and in collaboration with other professionals to deliver mental health webinars and workshops to companies like Ford, ITC, Games24x7 and Maple.
